Question 4: I have this guitar

and I totally agree with what Antonio Rey says here on minute 2:14

Now I hear myself very well playing along with others even without any microphone. In the past I have  seen that there are other guitar brands having the sound port on the lower side instead and I didn’t like  that because I did not feel any difference at all, I guess it does not have the same effect when the sound  port is not directed towards the player.

Is that the reason why the sound portal has to be on the upper side?
ANSWER: Yes, in fact you are right. For example, on the following picture you can see Paco listening his guitar from the exact point in which the sound portal should be located

This picture means a lot regarding that… It’s obvious that the upper side is the most natural point to have a sound portal, and guitar players with regular guitars have always tuned during performances the same way as shown on the picture above, so that image itself explains it all.
